Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup banana ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup calamansi juice
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon 5-spice powder
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water

Instructions:

To make the marinade, put soy sauce, banana ketchup, brown sugar, calamansi juice, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, and five-spice powder in a bowl

Put the thinly sliced pork in a large container or bag that can be closed again and again

Pour the marinade over the pork

Put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight for a better taste

Warm up the grill over medium-high heat

Spread out the pork slices that have been marinated on the soaked bamboo skewers

The pork skewers should be grilled for 10 to 15 minutes, turning them over every so often and basting them with the rest of the marinade, until the pork is cooked all the way through and has a nice char
